Meet Joseph! This sweet boy has had such a rough start in life!
He looks to be a cross between a Pointer and Border Collie based on his coloring, body type, built etc.
He arrived at a shelter injured after being hit by a car. The leg, left forelimb, was too damaged to save so it was amputated. On top of that he was heartworm positive. There was no doubt his former family did not take great care of him.
Despite everything Joseph was noting but a tail wagging machine!
His leg surgery took place on 12/29/20, and he healed perfectly! He was neutered at that time as well. Luckily he is a very slim built dog so that fact he is a tripod does not in any way hold him back from running and playing! He actually is much better now that the pain and the bad leg is gone.
He is fully vaccinated, microchipped and on heartworm & flea prevention.
Once he fully healed from that he began his heartworm treatment, which he also did great with!
So now sweet Joseph is ready for a home to call his own. One where he will be loved, properly cared for and safe.
He loves other dogs ( there is quite variety in his foster home). He is good with children, but its a no-no to cats ( he does seem to have some type of pointer in him afterall!)
He currently weighs about 47 pounds, is good on a leash, has had no potty accidents in his foster home and loves a good car ride!
