Here’s Johnny,
Rescued from a puppy mill and learning to be loved and pampered in a home.
Johnny was found living in an outside rabbit hutch cage. He and another chin that we named Susie have been recued and fostered together. Johnny seems very fond of Susie and would love to either be adopted with her or go to a home with another small female dog that would befriend him.

Johnny is a bit shy and timid.
He is unsure of everyday things most dogs don’t even notice.
He has learned that sleeping on a bed in a warm home is a great life.
He has learned how to use potty pads but still hesitates to go outside.
He has learned that toys are fun, but so are empty toilet paper rolls.
He has learned to enjoy the humans in his foster home,
wagging his tail when they come home.
But he still slinks down when approached to be touched.
John seems attracted toward male humans, but still timid with them.

Johnny’s future:
A family that will allow Johnny to be loved on his terms.
At this point John does not enjoy sitting and cuddling on a lap but does enjoy being pet if not held.
Things may change as he adjusts to home life but for now Johnny needs the following:
A home on the quiet side.
A home with adults.
A home with a secure fenced yard would be wonderful as John doesn’t seem to care for harness and leash (yet)
A home with another small well manured, well-adjusted, Female dog,
or ideally a home with his cage mate Susie.

John is one of four chin that came in together from the same puppy mill.
