Joe 3499's Story
04/05/26 Happy Easter and Passover from 6-year-old JOE—complete with a bunny tail!

This incredibly sweet, gentle boy was found on a busy highway by a Good Samaritan who cared for him for three weeks, but couldn’t keep him due to financial reasons. He did great with her cat and small dog, so we know he’s good with both.

Joe does well with most dogs as long as they’re calm and match his activity level. He’s currently undergoing heartworm treatment, and once that’s finished, he can be neutered.

He’s a volunteer favorite and a really good boy who’s looking for a safe place to land—his forever home. Please don’t overlook this adorable gentleman.

11/25/25 6-year-old Joe was found wandering alone on a busy street when a kind woman found him and took him in. Unfortunately, due to financial reasons, she was unable to keep him, but he got along wonderfully with her cat and small dog. Joe is super sweet, eager to please, and has definitely had some training. He likes dogs, cats, and is good with children, making him another dobercorn. Lucky is the family that adopts this special boy, as he will surely fill their home with love and gratitude. Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). These dogs will always be supported by DRL. We welcome financial support for these dogs.
