Jem is an extra large Dalmatian at over 80 pounds and will need an experienced Dalmatian home with another large dog. UPDATE on dogs - Jem has decided that he loves non-dominant female and male dogs. He has been doing great with the females and males we have in rescue. We recommend that he not be in a situation where he is around a lot of people as was a "country dog" originally and nervous to "city" situations. He was adopted and returned for nipping at someone (especially joggers) running towards him and his owner. We believe he went into protection mode, as he is normally a very friendly dog. He is very good on leash - especially with a Gentle Leader. I would recommend that he go on a diet to lose about 20 pounds and we are working on that, with him already dropping a few pounds. He is a very handsome dog and will be a loyal companion. We do not recommend him with small children because of his size. Jem would be perfect for someone who wants a dog for extra security around the house and doesn't take their dog a lot of places. He loves his human. This guy is a big ole lovable jughead. As big as he is, he can "frogdog" with the best of them. :) Sometimes he acts like a big goofy puppy.
