Jana Cattle Dog Mix Cincinnati, OH

Jana made her way to STAF after landing at one of our county shelter partners. We are so happy to have this little nugget safe with us. Jana is a delightful (tiny) we-think-cattle dog mix. We believe she is around 7 months old but fairly small, right around 18 lbs. This girl has the most adorable flip-flop ears, almost like little antennas :).

Jana does great with other dogs and relishes any time she can spend with the STAF volunteers. She adores snuggling in pretty much any lap she can find and lights up when a volunteer stops by her run to say hello. Some great feedback from a volunteer after a walk with Jana:
"What a little doll! I entered Jana's run and bent down to say hi. She was happy and gentle and wiggly and bouncy! This little girl is a bundle of energy and affection. Jana is very good on leash and absolutely prances, her ears forward bouncing up and down. She will try and chase birds or squirrels or other wildlife but is quickly redirected with a gentle tug on her leash. She loved our hike and was very busy following every sight and sound. Jana was friendly and social with all the people and dogs we met. We met another puppy her size and she bounced and played and then cried when it was time to move on. Jana is energetic and so much fun to be around! She enjoys both people and dogs and has the energy to keep up with anyone. She is a little social butterfly and quite the charmer. Jana is enthusiastic, affectionate, and just an all-around fun girl!
A side note - I think she is part pointer, because she points... : )"

Jana probably didn’t have the best start in life, but she and we at STAF are looking forward to finding the home that she has always deserved. We think Jana will bring a ton of smiles into one very lucky home.

Jana will need: A home that gives her patience and understanding while she adjusts to her new life
Jana would love: A home with another canine friend or trips to daycare and a fenced yard to explore.

You must be 21 years or older to adopt a dog from STAF

We require a physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog's behavior and exercise needs.

Invisible fences - Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training--we cannot adopt to homes with invisible fences unless otherwise noted in a dog's online profile.

We do request vet and personal references.

At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 75 miles of Cincinnati.
