Meet Jake

Jake is a handsome, 4 yr old, male Schipperke. If you know Schipperkes, Jake will feel very familiar to you. Jake is smart and inquisitive; at the same time, he wants to please. Jake is content to hang out with you, beside you or on your lap.

Jake is an excellent walking partner and can walk up to six miles daily. He would also be a good companion for a runner and/or hiker as Jake enjoys trail adventures as much as walks in the park and on the greenway. He LOVES his daily morning walks, regardless of weather, and seldom walks when he can trot or scamper.

Jake is not a barker unless there is a reason, like a stranger in the house. Jake, like most Schipperkes, possesses extraordinary senses and an inherent suspicion of strangers.

He could be an only dog or share his home with another dog his size, but Jake does have some tendencies toward guarding his toys and food, so if there is another dog in the home, this would require some monitoring/management.

The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee.

An all-adult home (no young children) and securely fenced yard, 5ft or higher, attached to the home, with NO gaps larger than 2 ½ inches is required. An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. No exceptions.

We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business.

Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports.

Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing.
