3-years-old, 50-pounds
Jake is looking for a home with a fenced-yard – he is not a candidate for an invisible fence. tie-out, or dog park. He is also looking for home without shared walls (no apartments or townhomes).
Jake will need consistent training and patience to help him with his uncertainty around new humans. He is a pro at supporting social distancing and takes multiple visits (with lots of high value treats) to warm up to someone. Once he is comfortable with someone, his personality comes through and he loves ear scratches, belly rubs and playing with his toys.
He will also need a home familiar with the Aussie breed. He has all the traits that have been bred into his Aussie background. A home committed to nurturing his busy Aussie lifestyle, mentally and physically will be important. If you give Jake an inch, he will run a mile – his forever home will need to ensure he knows that he does not run the house.
Jake needs a kid-free and cat-free home but would do alright with another dog in the home provided there are slow, controlled introductions and ample time for both dogs to decompress once Jake is in his forever home. Jake likes to play with other dogs but can be a little pushy around toys when he wants them.
Jake is looking for a home where he will be loved, provided with consistent training, and given ample opportunities to get his Aussie energy out!
His adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, & Bordetella), HW and flea/tick preventative, and microchip implant and registration.
There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best guess.
Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.
Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 75-mile radius of the Minneapolis, MN city center.
