Meet Jagger

DOB April 2022, sweet and gentle spirited Jagger arrived into our care through no fault of his own with his littermates.

Jagger is a neutered male, Std Poodle mix/Smooth Collie/Lab/GSD/asstd mix puppy who is lower shedding but DOES still shed moderately, and is not hypoallergenic.

Jagger's mom is a Smooth Collie/Lab/GSD/asstd MIX with many breeds mingled, and his father is a pure Standard poodle.

Jagger is an extremely smart, affectionate, gentle puppy who loves people and pets.
He is still a puppy and loves to romp and play with his foster friends! Jagger requires another canine companion in his home that is a suitable match to thrive

He likes to be with his people. He would do best in a home with someone home often.

He will need a person that will continue to build his confidence , someone who will continue his training and perhaps go beyond to get involved with scent training or other mentally stimulating activities, this boy is so smart and loves to learn.

Jagger loves walking trails and swimming, he needs an active family that will take him exploring and allow him to be with them often.

Jagger's wish list includes:
* another canine companion to live with , a playmate and a snuggle buddy.
* a home with a fenced yard in a quieter neighbourhood to romp and play in between hikes and adventures

Jagger is a pleasure to love, he is a very happy, calm puppy and absolutely loves to be cuddled and petted.

Everyone who has met him cannot believe how calm, smart and well behaved he is. Cuddles mandatory Jagger says.

Jagger has been attending vet visits and given time to decompress and work on his training and socialization during his time with his foster family.

Jagger is now neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped, and ready for his forever home.

Our minimum adoption donation is $675, which includes ALL of their vetting including spay/neuter surgery, microchip, vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and the cost of feeding and caring for them during their time with us.

We do not use low cost/high volume spay/neuter clinics, we work with our trusted vet whom we trust implicitly to diagnose and treat/refer our dogs as well as provide exceptional expert care throughout their time with us.
We do not profit from adoption fees whatsoever.

*Registration with a positive method, approved training school/trainer is mandatory for this dog to continue with their training, socialization and to help set them up for success in their forever home/future.
*Must be located within Ontario Canada
*Inground/ground level Pools and ponds must be separately fenced from yard
*The life expectancy of a young puppy is 15-20 yrs and therefore is not a suitable match for older seniors/geriatric owners. Our goal is to place our dogs in homes where they will not ever need to be rehomed again and may receive the quality of care that they deserve for their entire lives.

Hobo Haven is located in St Jacobs Ontario.
For approved families, we require in person meetings in St Jacobs ON
If you are not willing to drive to this location to meet our dogs after you are approved, please do not apply.
We do not meet elsewhere nor deliver dogs. Adoptions within Ontario only

For anyone possibly interested in adopting from Hobo Haven, here are a few, but not all, criteria to be aware of:

We require all serious applicants to watched "Petfooled" which is a free documentary at this link
, or on Amazon prime or also a variety of other free video sites.

Our motto is "know better/do better" and we ask all adoptive families to be as committed to providing our dogs with quality nutrition as they are to providing love. This documentary is not advertising, purely just educational.

An adoption application must be completed and approved, including vet references as well as a home visit (Zoom during COVID), prior to meeting available dogs.
All dogs are placed in loving foster homes during their time with us, we do not have a shelter to visit.
We do not allow applicants to visit until pre-approved for adoptions. Our dogs are in private foster family homes, not in a shelter.
Any questions may be emailed to

Due to the high volume of applications received for our dogs, priority of replies will be given to applicants who meet the criteria mentioned in the pet's profile.

Please do not ask us to make exceptions, we set these protocols and policies for the dog's best interests which are always our highest priority.

Emails are best, our volunteers work full time and are often not able to answer or return phone calls in a timely manner.
