Jack's Story

If you’ve ever wanted a dog who thinks you are the absolute greatest person on earth, Jack may be your boy.

Jack is a handsome 6-month-old pup who is incredibly smart, quick to learn, and takes the term "Velcro dog” to another level. Once Jack chooses his person, he wants to be right beside them—following them everywhere, leaning in for affection, and even letting them know exactly when and where he expects his scratches.

Jack came to us from a difficult situation in New Mexico with his three siblings, and even as a young puppy, he seemed to believe it was his job to protect everyone. Now that he’s on his own, we’re seeing that underneath his brave exterior is actually a sensitive puppy still learning that the world is safe.

Jack can be wary of unfamiliar people and may bark when he feels uncomfortable or overwhelmed. He has never bitten or nipped—in fact, scoop him up during one of his “big tough guy” moments and he practically melts into your arms. He generally does well with smaller dogs, while larger dogs can intimidate him, so slow introductions are best.

The wonderful thing is that Jack is only 6 months old and has so much potential. He’s already potty trained, incredibly intelligent, and eager to learn. With patience, structure, continued socialization, and confidence-building, we believe this little guy will thrive.

Jack would do best in a home without young children; older, dog-savvy kids may be considered. An adopter familiar with cattle dogs, herding breeds, or sensitive dogs would be especially wonderful.

Jack doesn’t need someone to make his world bigger overnight. He needs someone to show him, little by little, that he doesn’t always have to be the brave one.

Give him that, and you’ll have one incredibly devoted little best friend.

Apply to Adopt
https://forms.gle/kDrCrsPZh9W337937
