Impala (Safari litter)'s Story
FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

---

Meet the Safari Litter! Talk about adorable puppies. This litter is from California and all mutt. DNA said they are German Shepherd / Great Pyrenees / Bully and more. Even with all those breeds, the estimate was between 45-75# when fully grown. Some puppies are bigger, some on the smaller side. They were born about March 3rd.

Impala loves her foster brother dogs - she's playful and super sweet.

As with many of our rescue litters - these pups had a RUFF start. Two of the puppies broke with Parvo just a week after we rescued them, but the amazing Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody treatment stopped the disease in its' tracks and most the puppies never got sick. Yay! Their vet visit and 4DX test prior to transport shared they have a tick borne illness called Erlichia. They immediately were started on doxycycline and again, had not show symptoms, as we caught the exposure early.

This puppy is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated, including rabies.

Currently in foster homes, they are learning all things puppy - crate training, housebreaking, and more! They are doing so great - smart puppies!

Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot! They will cry in their crate, might need a potty break in the middle of the night. They will pee and poop in your house - your fault ;) - and will chew on your shoes, your childrens toys and maybe even the furniture. But... once transitioned into your home, will be life long companions!

The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.

Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.

Adoptions take place in Snohomish County - depending on foster home.
Adoption fee is $525. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.

Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sundays to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.

Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We dont ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your dog.
