Meet Hunter

Hunter is a special guy with a big heart who loves his humans and his doggie friends. He doesn't mind cats either and is happy to share any couch, pillow, or bed with his loved ones.

Hunter was born with a brain defect that causes seizures. Hunter doesn't know any different and is a happy-go-lucky guy with a few quirks that make him unique and in need of a family that can give him the love and care he needs. He was surrendered to Brookline when his family couldn't take on the medical evaluation, and the more regulated schedule and meds that this lovable guy needs to thrive.

While in foster care, Hunter has gotten medical attention and is on a routine 2x a day medicine schedule that has enabled him to live his best life. He will always be on medicine but that just means some extra pill pocket treats in his mind. Hunter loves to play tussle with the resident dog, chase balls, and play tug. He eats with gusto and is completely housebroken... barking when he needs to go outside. He doesn't bark at much else except maybe if you are eating something particularly yummy and he wants to remind you that he is there. The Amazon delivery and mailman love him and his sweet ways. He likes to give them a few big licks on arrival.

Hunter isn't afraid of much but he isn't a fan of getting his feet dried off. He is also not a fan of quick movements toward him. Hunter was raised for his first year in a home with young children (6 years and up) and is just happy to be with his people and gets along with other animals in the home. However, he is a little bit of a clumsy guy and does love food so if there are young children in the house they could accidentally get a snack taken or get knocked aside in his rush to say hello. He would do great with another dog but an active family that keeps him busy, especially in the morning would be great too. He is a morning guy ready for bed by 8:00 pm.

Hunter is a velcro lab that loves to be near and touch his people. He also loves car rides and walks well on his leash but can tug. He also is a bit of a counter surfer but has been in training these past few months... he just loves food so much that it is hard for him to resist. He doesn't try to get away from his humans so he isn't a flight risk.. he knows the joy of a comfy couch and a good meal but mostly he just loves his family. Hopefully, there is a special family that can help this special young guy who just wants to be loved and be happy.
