Meet Hooch

Hunky Hooch is a 4 year old Dogue de Bordeaux that came from a shelter in Southern Mississippi. This boy is a certified southern gentleman with great manners! He even likes to have an afternoon drink on the lawn (he LOVES to play in the sprinkler in his play yard)! He is extremely laid back and easy going, walks beautifully on a leash, and is a total snuggle monster and very eager to please!

This handsome devil is gentle and loving and would probably do well in a home with children.
Before he came to rescue, Hooch got into a pretty bad fight with a male Labrador Retriever, so we were very cautious about his interactions with the other dogs here in the beginning. Even though Hooch has been completely non-reactive to the other pups since the day he got here (he basically ignores everything on four legs), he will need an experienced home that can make sure that any introductions to other animals in the household are done slowly, properly and carefully.

Hooch is housebroken and knows basic commands and how to use a dog door. He is current on his shots, microchipped, neutered, and is undergoing treatment for heartworms. If you would like to give Hooch the home that he’s been dreaming of, please contact us at

We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. The adoption app is available on our website ( under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle since this will help us determine if the dog you’re interested in is a good match.

Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a “perfect placement” so we know that they will not be failed again.
