Hazel D12603's Story
Meet Hazel, a sweet little shy girl who has been busy discovering that life is pretty great when you're safe, loved, and surrounded by your people.

Hazel may be cautious with new people, but once she gets comfortable, she turns into a cuddly, playful sweetheart who wants to be wherever her people are. She'll follow you around the house, keep tabs on your activities, bring you a favorite toy, or gently plant a paw on you when she decides it's time for more pets. At bedtime, she's especially happy to snuggle up next to her people.

Hazel has playful energy, especially in the afternoon and after potty breaks. Morning and evening walks help her settle, and she's a big fan of fetch-play a few rounds, take a nap, and then she's ready for another round! She's also perfectly capable of entertaining herself with her toys.

New people? Hazel prefers the "I'll be over here observing you" approach. Give her some space and let her come to you when she's ready, and you'll see her confidence grow. Her crate is her safe zone, and she does best when she can see her trusted people. She's done well with calm dogs, but her opinion on cats is still TBD. She's also more comfortable watching little kids from a distance while she gets used to them.

Hazel is potty trained, crate trained, knows "sit," and is working on her leash manners. She may pull when excited and occasionally gets a little jumpy or mouthy when she has extra energy, but regular exercise and playtime bring out her calm, cuddly side.

And then there are the EARS. When Hazel gets silly, those floppy ears have a tendency to flop directly across her face, making her look approximately 37% more adorable.

Hazel is looking for someone who will let her take things at her own pace, keep her active, and give her plenty of love. In return, she'll give you cuddles, toys, fetch, companionship, and a whole lot of floppy-ear entertainment.
----
*Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.*
