Meet Hayden!<br/><br/>Also known as Princess Pookie Pants, Hayden is a 2-year-old, 14-pound terrier mix with a quiet personality, a sweet nature, and a serious appreciation for affection once you’ve earned her trust.<br/><br/>Hayden is more of a calm companion than a rough-and-tumble playmate. She’s low energy, independent, and perfectly happy lounging nearby, soaking up the sun in the grass, or quietly keeping you company. Toys and rowdy dog games aren’t really her thing — Hayden would much rather spend her time relaxing and getting loved on by the people she knows best.<br/><br/>She can be shy when meeting new people or entering unfamiliar situations, but she’s already made wonderful progress in foster care. With time, patience, and a few high-value treats, Hayden begins to relax and show just how affectionate she really is. Once she trusts you, she absolutely melts for attention and wants all the pets she can get.<br/><br/>Hayden is potty trained, crate trained, and wonderfully quiet at home — she rarely makes a peep. She’s still building confidence on leash, but she continues to improve as she gets more comfortable with the world around her.<br/><br/>She has also made great strides around other dogs. Hayden now comfortably coexists with her foster siblings and is happy to exchange a polite sniff hello, even if joining in on playtime isn’t really her style. She could live with a calm, respectful dog or be perfectly content as the only pup in the home.<br/><br/>Hayden would be a great fit for an apartment or a quieter household with an adopter who appreciates a slower pace and is willing to let the relationship develop naturally. She’d do best in a home without small children and with someone who is around regularly.<br/><br/>Hayden may not be the dog who throws herself into your arms the second you meet, but that’s part of what makes winning her over so special.
