Happy's Story

Meet Happy!
Happy is a 30-pound, 1-year-old female Boston mix (we think she may be a Frenchton), and this girl is basically a four-legged ray of sunshine! She is incredibly outgoing and loves everyone she meets. Children of all ages are right up her alley, and she is wonderfully gentle with them. She also does well with other dogs and is always ready to tag along for her next adventure. She is curious about cats but not aggressive so with proper introductions we think she would do fine with them.
Speaking of adventures, Happy is a girl who likes to do things! She loves a good game of fetch, long walks, chewing on sticks, and rolling around in the backyard like she has absolutely nowhere else to be. She does have a bit of a squirrel situation, though. When she spots one, her leash-pulling skills suddenly become VERY enthusiastic. She'll need some basic leash training to make walks a little more civilized. As long as her adopter is committed to keeping her safely leashed and working with her on this, a fenced yard isn't required — although Happy would certainly give a fenced yard two enthusiastic paws up!
When adventure time is over, Happy is more than happy to settle in. She is crate-trained and comfortable staying home for up to 7 hours at a time. She's also potty trained and has mastered the fine art of ringing bells to let you know when it's time to head outside.
And while Happy has plenty of youthful energy for playtime, she also has a serious soft spot for cuddles. Once she's gotten her zoomies out, she's perfectly content to curl up with her person and enjoy some peaceful snuggle time. In other words, she's equal parts adventure buddy and professional cuddler.
Happy does have a sensitive stomach and some extensive food allergies. She is currently eating prescription HP food and may potentially be able to transition to other foods in the future if an adopter is willing to continue working with her on an elimination diet. She has already had allergy testing, and we have a list of the things she is allergic to, so her future family will have the information they need to help keep her feeling her best.
Happy has been spayed and vaccinated and is otherwise healthy.
Adoption fee: $400
If you're looking for a fun-loving, affectionate, adventure-seeking little sidekick who thinks squirrels are the most exciting things on Earth and cuddles are the perfect way to end the day, Happy might just be your girl.
You can find more information about the adoption process and a link to the application form on our website: Wisconsin Boston Terrier Rescue
Please email wbtradoption@gmail.com with any questions.
