Hank The Tank's Story
Hank “the Tank” arrived at NCCR on 5/10/26, rescued from abandonment when his owner moved out and left Hank and several other dogs shut inside their house alone. He is an approximately 3-year-old male, believed to have Rat Terrier and/or Jack Russell Terrier, Beagle, and probably another breed or two in his mix. He is around 20-25 lbs. and is full-grown. He is a cheerful, feisty little guy with a big personality. Hank seems to get along with other friendly dogs, although cats are unknown to him – his breed mix may make living with cats an unlikely match. He seems to be house trained and keeps his kennel clean, knows how to walk on a leash, and is definitely very smart. Additional pictures and info will be added soon.

*Approved applicants are welcome to participate in our popular Slumber Party program and take a dog home for up to 2 weeks to make sure he/she is a great fit.
If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application at www.caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again when you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email us at adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day.

We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopters must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.

*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide. If they are incorrect, we will not be able to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone, so advise your references that there may be an unknown or private number calling them. Thank you!
