Hamlin's Story

Meet Hamlin a 4-year-old, 17-pound Jack Russell mix whos neutered, fully up-to-date on vet care, and potty-trained.

Hamlin is a little dude with big feelings-quiet and cautious at first, the kind of dog who needs a patient, low-key home where he can take his time learning that people are safe. He won't rush into your arms, but once he decides you're a chill and trustworthy friend, his whole face lights up and he does these tiny, joyful bounces that are absolutely impossible not to smile at.

Because Hamlin needs a slower-paced environment to feel comfortable, he likely wouldn't do well in a home with kids. Were not sure yet how Hamlin feels about cats, but he does get along well with small dogs.

Hamlin is proof that the best friendships are the ones you earn slowly. If you have a calm home and the kindness to let him set the pace, he'll reward you with a loyalty and sweetness that's well worth the wait.

Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt!

Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $300+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs.

Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
