Haden's Story

Haden proves that sometimes the best things in life are the ones people overlook.

At just about 1 year old and 48lbs, Haden spent more than two months in a shelter, confined to his kennel for 23+ hours a day. The stress was taking its toll, and he was at risk of euthanasia simply because shelter life was no longer a healthy place for him.

That’s when Bluey’s rescue stepped up. Thanks to our amazing partnership with Lincoln County Animal Shelter, Haden even hitched a ride on a private plane to his foster home in Moyock, NC!

And once he arrived? Haden didn’t know what to enjoy first — the yard, the toys, the freedom... or ALL THE PEOPLE!

In a short time, this boy has absolutely blossomed. Haden is smart, obedient, incredibly eager to please, and a FAST learner. He has learned to use a doggy door, walks nicely on leash, knows “shake,” is working on “stay,” and is becoming more comfortable in his crate — especially impressive considering how much time he previously spent confined.

He loves other dogs, enjoys playing ball, has discovered the magic of puppy popsicles, and is even a hit on trips to Tractor Supply! He also does well with older kids who are comfortable with a happy, energetic dog.

Haden’s perfect family will keep both his body AND his brain busy. He would love an active home, continued training, a yard for playing ball, and people who are around often enough to give him all the attention he missed for so long.

He could happily be your one-and-only or share his home with another playful, energetic pup.

Haden spent long enough watching life happen from behind kennel bars.

Now he’s ready to live it.
Dog friendly
Smart & highly trainable
Active, affectionate & eager to please
Fostered in Moyock, NC

Apply to adopt Haden:
https://forms.gle/K5DnxkdP3jvuQUQK8
