Meet Gus

Gus is a really unusual boy – he’s a true people magnet because he is so handsome and because Gus has three legs – and gets around fabulously well!

Gus was found on the street in Ensenada, and a nice lady took him to vet. She felt sorry for Gus because he has only 3 legs. We aren’t sure if was born that way or had it amputated a long time ago, but he is perfectly healthy and sweet and wonderful and has absolutely no restrictions whatsoever.

This handsome fellow plays, loves the beach, and runs - sometimes he even out runs my other foster dogs. That puts them in their place! Gus is perfectly capable of hiking, walking, and camping with you.

Gus looks like a Carolina Dog with maybe some Labrador retriever tossed in. Carolina Dogs are described as inquisitive, gentle, energetic, intelligent, and loving. And Labrador Retrievers are the most popular family dogs in the US.
He is a mellow, tolerant, well-behaved, and quiet fellow who bonds wonderfully with his people. He isn’t shy and just wants to sit near you and love on you and have you love him back.

It seems everywhere Gus goes, people tell him what looker he is and how great he gets along. Believe me: Gus doesn’t really think he’s missing anything, and in fact, he isn’t – he isn’t “handicapped” at all.

Gus is definitely smart – it doesn’t take him long at all to “learn the rules.” He seems to be housebroken, though he may have to get accustomed to his new environment.

He’s quiet and not a wanderer and he sticks around the unfenced yard like a champ.

Gus likes the car and is content to sit out gaze out the window for hours!
I am a firm believer in allowing people to take a new buddy home for a “sleepover," to be sure your family, your other pets, and wonderful Gus all get along. Of course, we ALWAYS take our rascals back if things don’t work out.

To meet this special 2-year-old pup (and maybe even have a sleepover), pls
