Meet Gus! He is a stunning Aussie mix who is around 5 years old. Gus is a super shy boy from never having been socialized before. He is looking for a family who will be patient with him while he learns that people aren’t so scary. Because he is timid, we are looking for a home without young children, as to avoid any loud noises and fast feet that may scare Gus. The one thing Gus truly never wants to feel again is abandonment. He does feel abandoned when left alone and what comes of that is severe separation anxiety. In order to give Gus the most comfortable life he can have, we are not only looking for a family who is home much more often than they are away, but also a family who understands his needs and is willing to work on his anxiety issues. A stay-at-home or work-from-home parent would be perfect for him! Gus’s energy is on the lower end, making him a great fit for a retired Senior adopter, or couple. While Gus works on building his bond with his new family members, he will be skittish and nervous. To avoid any possibility for incidents, we are requiring Gus have a fenced-in yard at his new home. All the TLC, patience, and work you will put into him will be more than worth it the first time you see a spark of progress. Gus is a very sweet boy with a gentle heart and he deserves a family with tons of love to give!
