Meet GROOT

I Am Groot. I may not be as tall or “barky” as the character Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy but I am just as clumsy. I can slide across a floor in the blink of any eye! I love having my foster fur-brothers to play with. I run just as fast as these big dogs. I’m too busy enjoying life to pay any attention to the cats. I have been through a lot of change recently so I might be a little timid for you at first, but don’t worry! I have settled into my foster home marvelously. I feel like I am one of the pack and I am quickly learning the lay of the land (you should see me use the stairs!). I have a lot of energy so I’d be a great companion for another dog or an active family. I would love a fenced backyard so I can run around. My neighbors love me but sometimes I can be “too much” for the little neighbors. Because of my size and silliness I would do better in a home without small children. I thought you would like to hear I am house trained! I’m working on learning the doggy door…the other dogs keep going in and out, but there’s a door in the way! How do they do it??? I will sleep in a kennel but love sleeping in my doggy bed. I just can’t wait to be a part of the family!

Groot is a male Chocolate Lab/mix who weighs 47 lbs and was born approximately 8-27-17. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & started on preventative. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled after your application has been approved. Since all of our pets are in foster homes and not a facility, we hold adoption appointments once a week on either a Saturday or Sunday, during scheduled time period. We need ALL family members or those living within your home, to be present for an appointment. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference and home ownership, although generally not required. Home ownership is verified through court records. If you are a renter, you must provide landlord contact information. For adoption guidelines and to submit an application, please go to this link: http://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ You will receive a reply from dollyslegacyadoptions@gmail.com within a few days of application submission, please make sure to check your spam folder if you do not see a reply within a week. We are a foster-home based rescue group and do not have a facility. We are 100% volunteer staff. All communication is done via email AFTER your application has been submitted. PLEASE be sure to answer all questions completely or it will delay processing, be sure to include vet phone#. If you have any questions please email dollyslegacyadoptions@gmail.com .
