Gigi-READ ENTIRE BIO's Story
Oh! Little Gigi!
She is trying so hard to fit in and wants to be loved and give love, but she is just so scared. She is making baby steps in her own time with the help of her loving and dedicated fosters and foster dog sister since March 8, 2026.

This is what we know about Gigi. We believe she was found as a "stray" with another dog, possibly her mother. Sadly, they were separated at the shelter and we tried hard to get them back together, as mama is just as scared and we feel they would have blossomed together, knowing they were safe and together, but that didn't happen. ( mama got privately adopted)

Gigi came from the Palmdale, CA shelter and was placed on the euthanasia list because she was so fearful. She is about 2 years old, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. We think she is mostly a Yorkie Terrier with either Cairn Terrier or another mixed Terrier. She weighs 8 lbs. She has a mixed coat of fur, some soft, some wiry. As time goes by and she gets more comfortable, she would need to go to the groomers about every 8 weeks, mostly for nail trims, being held and comforted ( she has been to the groomers once for nails and she did great!) She has had home baths and did very well. She isn't there for being brushed yet. She sheds very little.

While in foster care, she has shown that she is potty trained ( but that can change with new home, with old markings from other dogs, etc) so we always encourage adopters to take her out every 2-3 hours, with praise and a yummy tiny treat. She has a doggy dog at her foster home. She loves being outside to explore and loves her cozy bed. She is super smart!

She loves to lay on the couch with Dixie and another foster dog sister. She'll lay next to her human, but doesn't come over for affection. She has slowly aloud petting and she likes it, but is just still so scared to trust. Whatever her last home did to her, is so completely sad that she has lost trust in humans. She is getting back that trust slowly though! Her forever home needs to continue showing her that she'll never be harmed ever again and on her time, but with gentle encouragements to receive that love. We believe she'll fully come out of her shell, with continuous gentle love and encouragement.

She rides great in the car or RV. Sleeps wherever she wants in the house and very comfortable on the family couch with both humans and dogs. She loves to chase squirrels and has even caught and killed a few moles in the yard, which is very typical for any terrier dog. She walks great on a leash and loves to take walks.

She's fairly quiet, laid back little dog that loves to explore her yard, take some naps and gets along with both dogs and cats and even chickens and a house bird ( this too can change) depending on the future home's animals.
She would do best in a quiet, calm home that the pawrents are mostly stay at home or that there is another laid back dog to live with No young kids under the age of 12. She needs a fully fenced yard, at least 5 feet tall, no gaps or holes along the fence line.

Her foster mom says, "she's a great dog, just trying to trust humans"!

If you know in your heart that Gigi is your next family member, please call Kim (not before 9:00 am or after 9:00 pm) or email familytailsdogrescue@gmail.com for an application.
Gigi's adoption fee is $650 which covers just some of her rescue cost. Feel free to ask about how much in reality it takes to rescue dogs and to bring them up to WA. No monies are ever made.
GIGI IS BEING FOSTERED IN VANCOVER, WASHINGTON.
