Gidget is a 3-year-old, 6-pound Shih Tzu mix with a BIG personality packed into a tiny body. Found as a stray, she stayed safe in the shelter’s cat wing while waiting for her second chance—and now she’s ready to find her perfect home.<br/><br/>This little lady marches to the beat of her own drum. She can be a bit of a picky eater (Freshpet is currently her favorite), and some mornings she’d rather sleep in than rush to breakfast.<br/><br/>Gidget prefers to be the star of the show. She’s not a fan of big or overly curious dogs and would do best as an only pet, though she can coexist with calm, respectful animals who give her space. Because of her tiny size and desire for a quieter environment, she’s looking for a home without small children and would thrive in a more mature household.<br/><br/>Where she really shines is on walks—she’s curious, adventurous, and loves exploring the world by your side. Because of her petite size, she’ll need a watchful human outdoors, but she’d do great in an apartment or condo with regular walks. She’s fully housetrained and will let you know when she needs to go out.<br/><br/>While toys aren’t her thing, Gidget loves being close to her person. She’s a champion blanket-burrower and would happily share your bed. She’ll need a little help getting onto furniture, but she’s more than worth it.<br/><br/>Gidget is fully vetted, on flea and tick prevention, and has received a ProHeart 12 injection for a full year of heartworm prevention—one less thing for her future family to worry about.
