Gia is as sweet as they come. She loves going on car rides and meeting new people. Her tail is always wagging around the kiddos and she loves being near them. She is still a bit timid, so she stays at a distance most of the time, but still wants to be near her people. she was very skinny when she arrived, so we are working on weight gain. She has been eating really well and seems to already be gaining weight back. She loves walks and running around the backyard with the kiddos, so I think she would do well with an active family.

Beautiful, graceful, and a heart of gold! ♥ Gia is a 1.5-year-old, 41lb female Great Pyrenees mix. Yes, you read that right...this poor girl is only 41lbs. She came to us after her owners had to move and were not able to take her with them.

Gia is a very calm and sweet girl. She spends most of her day napping, but she also has been through quite a bit of change lately. She is definitely on the more timid/unsure side right now. Once she starts to really feel at home, we could see her becoming more interactive. We do believe that she will still be on the calmer side though, even once she feels at home. The only thing that may change is that she becomes more playful/interactive. Gia has not shown any interest in playing fetch or with any toys yet. We are also unsure if she is a water dog or not.

Gia perks up when she meets a dog out in public and is eager to play with them. She probably won't be a huge player, but would definitely be down for a couple good wrestling sessions throughout the day with another dog. She is not being fostered around any cats, but her former family did report that she did well with them. Gia does well with kids and as long as they are respectful of her space/boundaries would do well in a home with kids of all ages. She loves meeting new friends and getting pets and attention when she is out in public. She has been hiking and to the brewery and she did excellently! We definitely think that she would make an amazing travel companion and adventure buddy! Gia does enjoy walks but is still working on her leash training.

Gia has good house manners and is potty trained. She is not kennel trained and stays in enclosed to a certain room whenever her foster family is away. She has not been a big chewer or barker in her foster home.

Gia is every dog lover's dream! She is friendly, she is calm, she is social outside the house, she is good with other dogs, cats, and kids! It doesn't get much better than her! ♥

You can apply to adopt Gia at

Please we are begging you though, only apply to adopt Gia if you can keep her forever. If you can't keep Gia through ALL of life's changes, don't be the one that makes her have to be passed around yet again a few months/years down the line.

She deserves a family that will love and stand by her forever. Ohana means family, and family means that no one gets left behind. ♥
