Meet Frodo<br/><br/>Frodo is a 2-year-old dachshund with a very big heart and a very small circle of people he trusts. He’s learning that the world can be a safe place, and watching him discover that is pretty wonderful.<br/><br/>When Frodo feels comfortable with you, his whole personality starts to peek out. Mornings are his favorite. He gets excited to see his person and wags his entire body with happiness. And once he decides you’re one of his people? Get ready for some serious dachshund snuggles.<br/><br/>Frodo is a thoughtful little guy who does best with people who understand that trust is something you build, not something you demand. He appreciates a calm, predictable home and gentle humans who will give him time to settle in and show them who he really is. He isn’t looking for a house full of commotion. He’d much rather be your quiet little shadow, getting to know you at his own pace.<br/><br/>Frodo is deeply bonded with his best friend Sam, and the two of them are looking for a home together. They give each other confidence and comfort, and there is something awfully sweet about watching this pair navigate the world side by side.<br/><br/>Frodo is currently taking medication to help with anxiety, and it has been making a lovely difference as he continues to gain confidence. His new family will need to continue giving him the patience, consistency, and security that have helped him come so far.<br/><br/>Frodo isn’t the dog who will rush up to every stranger and immediately ask to be picked up. He’s the dog who quietly watches you, decides you’re safe, and then one day suddenly realizes, “Oh. You’re MY person.”<br/><br/>And when Frodo chooses you, he chooses you with his whole little dachshund heart.<br/><br/>Frodo and Sam are currently being fostered in Utah and must be adopted together.<br/><br/>Rocky Mountain Dachshund Rescue (RMDR) has foster families in Colorado, Nevada, Utah, Montana, and Wyoming. Please check the dogs location before your apply to adopt them. You will need to pick them up. RMDR DOES NOT TRANSPORT THE DOG TO YOU or transport them across state lines.<br/><br/>The Colorado Department of Agriculture requires that all dogs entering PACFA-licensed facilities have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days of entry. Dogs over three months of age must also have proof of a current rabies vaccination, including the vaccination date, manufacturer, and serial number listed on the CVI. Puppies must receive parvovirus and distemper vaccinations at least 14 days before entry.<br/><br/>These PACFA requirements may affect the adoption fee. Applications are usually reviewed within 48 hours.
