Meet Freya:: 2 years old, 72 pounds, Spayed Female German Shepherd Dog.

Available for Adoption!

Freya is a stunningly beautiful young German Shepherd who finally got the break she deserved when her breeders discarded her on the road with her friend Windsor (also available for adoption) and they landed a spot at Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue! Freya is a little timid upon first meeting you but she warms up into a very snuggly and sweet girl and very quickly becomes a velcro dog. Freya does well with the other dogs in her foster home and pays no attention to their dog savvy cats. We don't think she had ever been on a leash prior to her rescue, but she is slowly learning that it's not that scary. She doesn't like the crate, but she will settle and sleep in it, but as long as trash and food is put away, she does fine if she's left out. Freya is good with the children in her foster home, and will do well with experienced/dog savvy children in the home (no kids under 5). Freya would do best with a family who has experience with German Shepherds or similar breeds.

$195 Adoption Fee.

All Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, current on heartworm and flea prevention, and microchipped.

Along with other criteria evaluated in the adoption application, a Fenced Yard is required to adopt.

Our adoption area, unless otherwise specified in their bio, is within a two hour radius of Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue for adult dogs, and within a one hour radius for puppies.

Adoption events are held every Saturday in our thrift store from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Please complete your adoption application in advance so our volunteers have time to screen and contact potential adopters.

IMPORTANT: All applications are reviewed in the order they are received and qualifications are based on best fit for each individual pet. A volunteer will contact you if you are selected for a meet with adoptable pet. Final approval is always made in person.
