Freddy's Story

Say Hello to Freddy! He's so sweet and such a good boy who is just over a year old and fully grown at 65 pounds. We think he's a German Shorthaired Pointer mix who has the most beautiful coat and the softest eyes that will just melt you. He's living with a great Foster family on Long Island and just wants to be loved and give love. He's a typical Hound...so much love to give!

Freddy is a very happy guy who is so respectful when he meets other dogs and absolutely loves playing with them. He's great with everyone he meets and wants to be included in any fun things that are going on. He loves to go for walks in the neighborhood, hikes, any adventure you're up. Hey, he's so happy just hanging out and playing in the backyard too.

We're hoping a great family finds Freddy because he so deserves happiness and his own family to love. We think he'd do best living in a suburban area with a fully fenced yard. He's healthy, up to date on all his vaccinations and neutered. Reach out to Long Road Home (lrhrescue@gmail.com) to get lots more info and pics and videos of this sweet boy and make plans to go meet him & fall in love!

Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes. What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
