Fred's Story

ID 60944114

Meet Fred! This long legged lanky lad of about 2 yrs of age, is definitely a mix of breeds and thats ok, most of our shelter dogs are! What we do know, is that this energetic guy is waiting to bust out of the shelter and embark on a new path on his life. Shelter life is proving to be hard on this guy so he is ready to back his bags and make an exit.

Fred really loves his treats, and he also is very lean so putting on a few pounds will really make his physical physique look stunning. He will offer an amazing sit, patiently waiting for that treat to be given. He has been learning to take them gently and we are sure training will go well for him, knowing he gets a yummy treat as a reward. He also knows down and will just need consistency for him to maintain it for duration. He is also eager to please and will certainly bond with his person.

Fred is a strong boy, and it appears was not given guidance on leash walking so continued work on this in his home is needed. Volunteers are happy to chat with you in different methods to use to set him, and you up for success!

This guy loves freedom in the yard to bounce around, run some laps, and engage with his person. He also is a snuggles and leaner but beware, he also has a fair amount of drool that comes with it.

Fred did pass his initial dog/dog assessment in the yard with some shelter dogs but due to his energy, and style, we do require a meet /greet (with any dog at the shelter!) with a resident dog to make sure it is a good fit.

If you can give this spunky, treat loving, happy guy a place to call his own....come on down and meet him. We would prefer a home to start with older respectful kids over 10 as he learns his manners and gets settled into a routine.
