Frankie's Story

Franki is a 2.5 year old American bulldog mix who is athletic and fun. Her vet records are full of notations about how good she was to handle at the vet clinic. She has been friendly with all she has met, but is sometimes a bit unsure of new people.

Frankie is spayed, of medium stature, and weighs approximately 65lbs.

Crate + potty trained
Knows basic commands
Loves a good ball or bone
Great in the car
Food motivated + quick learner

Frankie has grown up in a home with another dog but would have to meet any new dogs in a home. Frankie has gone for a walk with one dog at the shelter and did well minding her own business. She is not reactive on walks, but is interested. A large dog barked at her on the trail and her tail immediately went between her legs and she wanted to move on. So she is not looking for trouble. She has lived with cats, but is a chaser. So immediate boundaries and rules would have to be set up if she were to live with a cat. The cat would also have to be a no nonsense confident cat and a family ready and able to be consistent with monitoring to make sure the rules are followed.

Frankie has not shown overt anxiety at the shelter and goes in and out of of her kennel on her own without prompting. She may whine a bit, but quickly settles.

Frankie came to us as she was having some difficulty adjusting to a new baby just getting up and walking. Frankie would be a lot of fun for a home with older children 12+ who could assist in her training.
