Francine's Story

If you're looking for a dog who believes personal space is overrated, you've found her. She's happiest curled up in your lap, leaning against you on the couch, or following you from room to room.

Everyone who meets Francine falls in love with her. She's compact enough to fit perfectly in your lap, and she'll gladly stay there as long as you'll let her.

The Promise We Made to Francine
We promised Francine that she would spend the rest of her life being loved instead of being used as a breeding machine.

At a Glance
Energy: Medium

Training: Doing great with potty training in her foster home, knows "sit"

Dog Friendly: Yes, but selective

People Friendly: Yes

Kid Friendly: Has done well with older kids

Cat Friendly: Has done well around a kitten

Personality
If cuddling were an Olympic sport, Francine would win gold.

She absolutely adores people and wants nothing more than to be close to them. Whether you're watching TV, working around the house, or relaxing on the couch, Francine wants to be part of it. She has a little case of FOMO and simply doesn't want to miss out on spending time with her favorite people.

Everyone who meets Francine falls in love with her sweet, affectionate personality. She's the kind of dog who happily climbs into your lap, leans in for cuddles, and makes herself right at home.

In the Home
In her foster home, Francine has settled into a consistent routine and has done well with potty training. Rather than spending time in a kennel, she enjoys curling up on blankets in the laundry room or tucked away in a cozy closet for a nap.

She's content simply being near her people and settles in nicely once she's comfortable.

With Other Dogs
Francine is currently living with two larger dogs, one adult and one senior. Her interactions can vary from day to day. Sometimes she's interested in playing and engaging with them, and other times she prefers to do her own thing.

It's likely Francine missed out on important socialization earlier in life, so she doesn't always seem confident navigating dog to dog interactions. If another dog is unsure of themselves, Francine can feed off that uncertainty.

Because of this, we think she'd do best either as an only dog or with a calm, confident, well mannered dog who won't overwhelm her. A relaxed canine companion can help Francine continue building confidence while giving her the space she needs to be successful.

With People
People are Francine's favorite. She loves attention, affection, and being included in whatever her family is doing. If there's an open lap nearby, she'll happily make herself at home.

With Kids
Francine is currently living with older kids and has done well. Because she's athletic, can jump surprisingly high, and can be a little mouthy during play, we think a home with older children would likely be the best fit. If there are younger kids in the home, a little extra supervision while everyone learns each other's boundaries would be beneficial.

With Cats
Francine has been around a kitten in her foster home and did well. While every introduction should be done thoughtfully, she may do well in a home with cats.

Training and Care
Francine has done well with potty training in her foster home and already knows "sit." She enjoys having a consistent routine and has shown she settles in well when given a comfortable space to relax.

Ideal Home
Francine's perfect home is one where cuddles are always in abundance. If you're looking for a dog who believes the best seat in the house is your lap, she's ready to claim it.

She could thrive as an only dog, but if she joins a home with another dog, we think she'd do best with a calm, confident companion who can help her continue learning the social side of being a dog. She'd also appreciate a home where she can relax in a designated area of the house rather than spending much of her time in a kennel.

A Note from the Foster
This girl has hops! Don't let her size fool you. Francine is incredibly athletic and can clear a high top chair with ease.

Promise Pup Highlight
Professional lap dog. Expert cuddler. Everyone's favorite little sidekick.

The Promise Moving Forward
Francine spent far too much of her life being valued for what she could provide instead of who she is. We promised her that those days were behind her and that her future would be filled with love, comfort, and a family who sees her for the incredible companion she has always deserved to be.

Now all that's missing is the person whose lap she'll happily call home.
