Flynn's Story

LOOK AT THAT Squishy FACE! Meet Flynn.

Every once in a while, a dog comes into your life who is just... different. Flynn is one of those dogs.

Over the last 30 years, I have had the privilege of fostering and rescuing more than 200 dogs, so when I say that Flynn is one of the most loving, intuitive and genuinely special boys I have ever had the blessing to foster, that says a lot.
And did I mention he's a BIG BOY? At only 7 months old, Flynn already weighs 62.3 pounds! He's a beautiful mix of Black Mouth Cur, Labrador Retriever and American Pit Bull Terrier, with the most incredible golden eyes that seem to look right into your heart.

But as handsome as he is, it's Flynn's temperament that makes him truly remarkable:
Completely crate trained
Does wonderfully on a leash
Loves dogs — big AND small
Loves children
Great with cats
Friendly with just about everyone he meets
Calm, affectionate and incredibly intuitive

Last week, I took Flynn to a music festival with hundreds of people, other dogs, crowds and loud music. He walked through it all calmly and confidently, taking everything in stride. I couldn't have been prouder of him.

Flynn has so much love to give, and I truly believe he is going to be one of those once-in-a-lifetime dogs for the family lucky enough to call him theirs. He isn't just looking for a house. He's looking for his person. His family. His forever.

If you've been thinking about adding a dog to your family, please come meet this big, beautiful boy. To ensure the best fit for both the dog and the adopter, we require a completed adoption application, three personal references (including your current veterinarian), and a home visit, either virtual or in person. If you do not have any pets, then the request for a vet reference does not apply. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, we put our hearts into every adoption.
