Meet Finn

Finn is a 14-month-old Australian Cattle Dog mix that was adopted as a pup from the Lawrence Kansas Humane Society. He is neutered and current with his shots. He is currently an inside dog with a lot of exposure to the outside through doggie daycare, numerous dog park outing and walks on the golf course. He has been loved and nurtured by his family.

Finn tends to chase/herd smaller dogs and animals and also likes to chase squirrels. He tends to bark at squirrels, other dogs and people walking by. When you ask him to stop barking, eh will comply after a few times of saying NO. He likes to sit on the couch and impress you with the fact that he is a 65 lb. "lap dog". He is friendly to people and most dogs.

He has been taught the commands: sit, lay down, "walk with me" and "this way". If approached by people he does not know, the word "friend" seems to help keep him from barking and getting too excited. He is smart, but could use a little retraining on the commands.

When the owner is not home, he is sequestered to the kitchen area and does pretty well there. He is 95-100% potty trained with the occasional accident if the owner is away for longer than 8 hours. He knows to go into his kennel at night.

Finn is Fiona's brother. They are from the same litter and have always been together, so it would be wonderful if they could go to the same loving home! However, due to their youth, they would do okay on their own. If another dog is in the family, Finn would probably do best with an older and/or same size to larger dog.
