Fender Summary:
Fender is an adorable 7-month-old Border Collie mix. He weighs about 45 pounds, and won't be growing much bigger. He is a Low Rider (he has shorter arms and legs, so he's close to the ground). He has medium-length very soft fluffy black fur with a white stripe that runs from his chest down his tummy. He is a Tuxedo dog! Fender is a smart boy! He will run over to us when we call his name, and he already knows Sit. He is praise and treat motivated. Fender would do well in obedience and agility classes.

Fender's ideal home would have another friendly dog for him to play with. His most favorite activities, in order, are playing chase/wrestle with the other dogs, playing with dog toys, eating (treats/meals it's all good!), and getting pets from his people while chilling on the couch.
____________________________________________

My story starts when I was abandoned at the shelter. Why I was left there I cannot tell you. What I can tell you, is that I believe everything worked out as it should. I ended up in rescue and in an amazing foster family. I have been waiting over 3 months for someone to welcome me home. That is definitely not what I expected but I am hopeful that I will be going home real soon!

I am definitely a people dog. When people come over to the house, I may be a little shy. It doesn't take long for me to come running over for pets and belly rubs though! When I am in public I am calm and friendly. I love meeting new people and am excited to get lovings from them. I know not all dogs enjoy leaving the house but I think I would enjoy it. I love being with my family and believe I would enjoy getting to go out in public and exploring. Plus, who wouldn't want to get to meet new dogs and people?! I have been on walks and they are my JAM! I am a big fan of them and am leash trained. I do believe I have the energy and endurance to go for hikes with my new family. I am a pretty easy-going dog and am eager to please and ready to do whatever you want to do! When it comes to road trips, I am a pro! I love the car but will definitely need to be buckled in. Otherwise, I will try to ride shotgun...or even better in your lap.

I am still a young dog and will jump when I get excited. My foster family is working on this with me, but my new family needs to be okay with this. Luckily, I am a bit of a low-ride so my jump doesn't exactly pack a punch. I love to play chase with the other dogs and wrestle outside. I am also a HUGE fan of squeaky toys and treats. I will give chase to toys or balls that are thrown. Bringing them back however...doesn't always happen. I do enjoy a good game of tug o war with the other dogs as well. I know most dogs are not a fan of bath time but I do pretty well. So, knowing that I do think that I would enjoy playing in the water.

I am a pretty big fan of other dogs. I really love playing with them...so much so that I am requesting that there be another playful dog in my home. I am a very social boy and love all dogs. Same goes for people! I am not being fostered around any cats, so I cannot say how I would do with them. Given my personality, I believe that I would adore kids. I can see myself being a kiddos best friend. However, I am still a puppy and can be quite playful at times so they should definitely be older and able to keep up with me.

I am potty and kennel trained. I have good house manners and have not done any destructive chewing in my foster home. With that said, I have plenty of toys and their house is puppy-proofed. I am a pretty playful puppy so I don't think that I would fare well in an apartment setting. I am not ashamed to admit that I do not like being alone. I may bark or whine if I am left all by myself. So, that is the other reason that I am asking that my new family have another dog in the home. Other than that, I have not shown to be a vocal dog.

My forever family should have another playful dog. I weigh around 45lbs and won't really be getting much bigger, so my family should also be okay with that. I can be calm and cuddly at times, but other times I am a playful puppy. A family that can keep up with my energy but also likes to just chill and cuddle at times would be wonderful!

If you are my forever family, I hope to see you apply to adopt me at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Once you have submitted your application, it will be sent on to my foster family for consideration.

I am being fostered in Tulsa, OK.
While we do adopt out of state, you would be responsible for picking your new dog up. We do not send our dogs on transport. This way you and your new fur baby can already begin the bonding process on the way back home, and it limits the stress on the dog.

My adoption fee is $250.
That will include my DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella. I will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.
