Meet Evie

Precious Evie came to STAF after being left alone to fend for herself in the over-night drop pen of a rural county shelter. Evie is 8 months old, just 8 pounds, and looks like a mini-schnauzer/terrier mix. Evie can be a little shy, especially with men, when first meeting new folks. But if you go slowly, take your time and are sure to be gentle with this little lass; you will have a friend for a lifetime. Once she warms up, her terrier personality comes to the surface and she is very playful and spunky. When you’re friends then she’ll follow you around and want you to hold her and snuggle with her:).

Unfortunately we’re pretty sure that Evie’s start in life was not the best but in just a short time at STAF this tiny baby has come very far with her socialization and has gained so much confidence.

Evie has done very well with meeting other dogs and cats. We think because of her shy-nature and small stature that Evie will do best in a home without wobbly toddlers or a home without too much activity. We're so looking forward to connecting her with a wonderful family :)

Evie will need: A patient home to continue to help her build her confidence and one way to do that is with positive based training.
Evie will love: A home that is calmer but enjoys taking long walks as much as they enjoy snuggling after her exercise.
Evie’s estimated birth date in September 2017

Please see our homepage for visiting hours and adoption details.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.

Visit our website www.staf.org to download our application.

We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.

You must be 21 years or older to adopt a dog from STAF

We require a physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog's behavior and exercise needs.

Invisible fences - Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training--we cannot adopt to homes with invisible fences unless otherwise noted in a dog's online profile.

We do request vet and personal references.

At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 75 miles of Cincinnati.

Can’t adopt but want to help? You can make a difference! Our shelter is run entirely on volunteer-power and generous donations from animal-lovers like you. 100% of your contribution goes directly to caring for our 500+ furry residents. Thank you for your support.
