AROOOOO! My name is Jemma and I’m 3 years old. I live in Leesburg, VA and my hero is McGruff the Crime Dog. I enjoy long walks in the woods, playing with squeaky toys, and making dog beds explode. I also like chasing cats, which I have been told is "not nice," so I have been looking to pick up a new hobby, but at this time, I don't have a partner to do that with! Maybe you might be interested in meeting me, so we can go for a hike in the morning, and then settle in for a First 48 marathon? I think that would be THE BEST WEEKEND EVER. Did I mention that I love belly rubs?



I’ve started learning something they call “tricks” and I’ve been told I’m a super smart gal! I love getting snacks and I always try my very best when a treat is involved! So far I’ve learned sit and I’m working on down too! I’ve been on a few field trips with the volunteers – I love riding in the car, going through the drive-through (pup cups are AMAZING) and hitting the trails! I also like spending time with playful dogs here at the shelter, I can be a big, goofy pup so I do best with other playful dogs– ask the staff about setting up a meet & greet with your dog to see if we might be a good fit.



The shelter is open from 11am-6pm for adoptions daily, so what are you waiting for? Come on by to meet me!



Jemma is spayed, up to date on all of her vaccines, microchipped and has received her flea/tick and deworming treatments too! Her adoption fee has been sponsored by a kind community member AND she goes home with “Jemma-sized” dog bed and water/food bowl!
