Meet Elmer - Senior Sweetheart
Majestic Elmer is 12-14 years old and was picked up by Animal Control. He's an easy, calm boy and looking for someone to love him. Elmer had a skin yeast infection which he gets medicated baths for once a week. Blood work and chest x-rays look good, for which we're thankful. He needs to add on about 10 lbs which shouldn't be a problem since Elmer loves to eat :) Relaxing on his Karunda bed or going for strolls in the Park, Elmer deserves to spend his senior years having some fun.
If you are interested in adopting, please email MalRescueDE@gmail.com for an application. Once your application is processed, a home visit is required. There is an adoption fee of $250 for each adult dog. Our dogs are healthy, spayed or neutered, up to date on shots, and heartworm negative.
Unfortunately rescues don't have the ability to hold dogs for adopters. Dogs are adopted to approved adopters on a first come, first serve basis. Our goal is to get a dog adopted to a forever home so that we can then help another one. If you are interested in one of our dogs, the first step is to request an application, which is typically sent to you the same day you have emailed your request. We process your application the day it is received. The next step is a home visit, and then you will be invited to meet the dogs. While we represent the State of Delaware, the majority of AMROD’s dogs are fostered in west-central Virginia. Contact preference is by email, malrescuede@gmail.com, rather than by phone. We appreciate you considering an AMROD dog!
