5/24/2015: Echo is a very friendly and people-loving pup. She’s a year old and has a pretty dark brindle coat. As for breed mix— we’re at a loss! We’re calling her a Pit Bull/Retriever mix, but really do not know what she is.

Echo is crate trained and keeps her kennel very clean. She’s bright and she's an eager learner and pleaser. She likes to play with other dogs but she’s energetic and does play pretty rough. She gets along with most dogs but she does best with dogs who don’t want to be the boss. If you have a dog, we’d ask you to make an appointment to bring your dog in to meet Echo so that we could make sure they get along. She rides nicely in the car and regularly goes out for ice cream with her canine buddy Bianca and our staff member Jai!

Echo was brought to us by KCK Animal Control after being hit by a car last July. Her right rear paw was horribly wounded. She needed surgery and a skin graft on the paw. She also had to have surgery for a luxating patella on that leg. She's all healed up nicely now but she does have a slight limp. She still enjoys going for walks.

Echo weighs about 45 lbs and she has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for heartworms. She's a sweetie!

> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!

> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.

> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our dogs, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the dog home with you that same day.
