Meet ECHO

Meet ECHO, a 2-year-old, 45#, Border Collie, whose distinct facial markings accentuate her smartness!

Echo is a young, active, and very smart herding dog. She has a lot of energy and would enjoy living on a farm with a nice large fenced-in yard she can herd a ball in. Echo did very well during training herding sheep. She does well with other dogs when properly introduced. She would do best in an active adult home with people who like to be outside. Cats and other small animals are a no for this girl. She has a very happy disposition, and is quite wiggly! A secure fenced yard is required to keep her safe and happy.

***Border Collie or herding dog experience is required, and more than one introduction appointment is necessary. House applicants with large secure fenced yards only***

*** Foster Home Notes: Echo has been living in foster with our dogs and doing great. Here are some observations from her time with us.

*** She’s a Border Collie, about 2 years old. She’s super smart and eager to please and I’ve found her easy to train.

*** She’s got a great energy level - loves to go for walks and play in the yard but will also take a nap and chill out.

*** She is highly interactive and loves to play games like fetch and tug. She plays with other dogs too. She’s currently living in foster with our 6 dogs and is doing great.

*** She loves to ride in the car but gets so excited she has to ride in a covered crate. She’s legit bonkers in the car and would not be a good buddy for road trips.

*** You will need to be patient with her. When we first brought her into foster we found her quick with her teeth. She even snapped our hands a few times. She never hurt us or even broke skin but it did startle. We’re training on this and she’s improved a lot. You’ll want to continue this training as you build trust.

*** She’s such a sweet girl. And a lot of fun. She’s affectionate and playful and will be a terrific companion dog to the right person.
