Hi, I'm Dusty!<br/><br/>1.5 years old | Great Dane / Great Pyrenees Mix | 82# (need to gain some weight!)<br/><br/>I'm part Great Dane, part Great Pyrenees, which means double the greatness! If you've ever wanted a giant best friend who thinks he's a lap dog... I might be your guy.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>I'm a young, friendly boy looking for a fresh start. I'm tall, lovable, clumsy at times, and fully committed to leaning my entre body weight against you for affection. (If you know Danes... you know!)<br/><br/> <br/><br/>So far, I seem to have inherited a lot of the classic Great Dane personality:<br/><br/> Friendly Outgoing Affectionate Silly and lovable<br/><br/> <br/><br/>But I also have some of the fluffy longer fur and may have some guardian instincts from my Great Pyrenees side too!<br/><br/> <br/><br/>I've done well with other dogs so far, seem curious but non aggressive with cats, and I'm expected to do well with respectful children who understand my giant size! Even when I'm being gentle, I'm still BIG, so I need a family that can handle a large breed dog.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>I seem to be potty trained already, though like any dog adjusting to a new home, he may need a little refresher while learning your routine and schedule.<br/><br/>I'm also a little on the skinny side right now and could use some extra TLC while I continue settling in. <br/><br/> <br/><br/>Because of my breed mix, continued socialization is going to be important for me as I grow and mature. Taking me places, exposing me to new people, animals, environments, sounds, and experiences in positive ways will help me stay the happy, confident, social boy I am now. Guardian breeds can become protective or wary without proper guidance, so I'm looking for a family committed to continuing my training and socialization!<br/><br/> <br/><br/>I may be a gentle giant, but I'm still young, still learning, and still need structure, boundaries, and guidance to become the best version of myself. <br/><br/> <br/><br/>Neutered, microchipped, Heartworm Negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Adoption fee is $100<br/><br/>Dusty did test positive for Lyme disease. He has started his 28 day treatment of doxycycline and received a Lyme Vaccine. He should be kept on flea/tick prevention year round & recieve a Lyme vaccine annually. <br/><br/> <br/><br/>If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Once submitted, staff will review your application during open hours. Please allow 24-36 hours for a response. If approved, we will contact you to schedule a meet & greet! Any other dogs in the home must come along and some dogs may require all family members to come as well!
