Dupree's Story

Dupree came to us from Oklahoma on a transport to a better life in the Pacific NW. Puppies in Oklahoma unfortunately grow up in rescue because of lack of adoptions. Dupree is so happy to be in a Vancouver, Washington foster home getting his chance at finding a loving family!

- Approximately 6-7 months old and 42 pounds

- Dupree feels safest with women. He really adores ladies. With men, he can be avoidant but he can learn to warm up to men who go slow with him, offer treats and are reassuring.

- We do not know his breed mix and guessed at Great Pyrenees and German Shepherd. He could have a lot of breeds mixed in there and a DNA test would be so fun if an adopter did one. We do think he will mature to about 60 pounds full grown but cannot guarantee size at maturity.

- Would likely do fine with gentle kids.

- Great with other dogs and loves having a doggie playmate

- No cats. He unfortunately thinks kitties are something exciting to chase.

- Walks on leash and loves to go out exploring with his foster mom

- Crate training is going well

- Nice medium energy

- Potty training is going well but will need continued supervision because he is a puppy transitioning from rescue to rescue to a new home.

Dupree is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm tested negative and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee includes his neuter surgery at our vet in SW Portland when he is a little older. We encourage adopters to wait until about 1 year old to have the surgery done for large breed dogs. That way their joints have the growth hormones to properly develop to prevent possible orthopedic issues as adults. His adoption fee also includes a free wellness exam at one of our four veterinary partners in Portland, Oregon City, Milwaukie or Tualatin.

$200 adoption fee

Fostered in Vancouver, Washington

COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION FOR DUPREE ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG
