Dump Truck's Story

Meet Dump Truck: The Short, Squatty Comedian with a Heart of Gold
Introducing Dump Truck—a 3-year-old American Bully who’s 38 lbs of pure, chonky wiggle-butt joy. Short, stout, and bursting with personality, this little tank is built like his namesake, with a stubby tail that never stops wagging and a face that will melt your heart. One look at his squishy mug, complete with a single grey eye patch and an ice-blue dot in his brown eye, and you’ll fall head over heels.

Dump Truck is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas, and is available for adoption or foster directly from transport in Seattle, Washington and surrounding areas! To start the adoption process, visit: www.doggedly.org/adoption-app.

Dump Truck’s journey hasn’t been easy. He was abandoned on a scorching hot day at a dog park in an apartment complex, patiently waiting for his owners to return while baking in the Houston heat. Luckily, a Good Samaritan stepped in, brought him to safety, and reached out for rescue help. Dump Truck arrived with some skin allergies, but with antibiotics, an allergy injection, and the promise of a high-quality diet, he’s well on his way to looking and feeling his best.

Dump Truck is great with other dogs and loves making new friends, although he’s most content playing fetch with a soccer ball (his favorite thing ever). He has not been tested with cats, but has an incredibly low prey drive to birds, squirrels and bunnies.
This lovable goofball is dog-friendly, great with kids, and so social he’d probably invite a burglar in if they offered a snack or belly rub. His two favorite things in life are butt scratches and food—his primary love language—and he’ll roll onto his back for belly rubs at the drop of a hat. He’s also kennel trained, potty trained, and so food motivated that training him is a breeze as long as treats are involved.

Dump Truck adores toys, tennis balls, car rides, and roughhousing with his humans before collapsing into a snuggly ball on the carpet. He’s athletic, loves leash walks, and would enjoy trips to the beach or outdoor patios where he can charm everyone he meets, but is perfectly content being a lazy homebody. Though sturdy, he is a brachycephalic (short nosed) bulldog, and requires a home that understands the breed’s heat sensitivity and exercise limitations.

In terms of energy, this guy is what we call an “active couch potato”. After a brisk walk or a short play time, he’s ready to chill out with a good chew toy and is a relatively mellow, lazy dude who mostly just wants to chew on his bone, lay around or snuggle. He is crate trained and doesn’t require much. He will happily nap in a dog bed while you’re at work. If you’re working from home, this guy is the perfect companion, as he is pretty quiet unless it’s time to eat or go outside to chase a ball.

Dump Truck is fully vetted—neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, on flea prevention, and heartworm negative.

If you’re looking for a hilarious, lovable, and endlessly entertaining companion, Dump Truck is the comedian your life needs. Don’t miss the chance to welcome this adorable little bulldozer into your family!

Adoption Requirements: All potential adopters must complete a pre-adoption interview, submit a veterinary reference, provide personal references, and submit home check photos prior to being approved for adoption. We encourage you to apply in advance to get pre-approved and join our waiting list for adoptable cats and dogs!
