Drifter's Story

Hi. I'm Drifter. What's Over There? Let's Go Find Out.

I'm already halfway across the yard, so if you want to talk, you're going to have to keep up.

I'm Drifter - ten months old, nine pounds, black with a white patch that I think makes me look distinguished. My mom is a Yorkshire Terrier and my dad is a delightful question mark (terrier? schnauzer? honestly it doesn't matter, I turned out great). My brother Denali and I landed in rescue when our first family couldn't keep us, and I'll be honest - I looked around, decided this place seemed interesting, and got on with it. That's just how I'm built.

I am bold. I am curious. I am INTO whatever is happening right now and also whatever might be happening around that corner. Life is full of things to investigate and I take that responsibility seriously.

Here's the honest rundown: I'm crate trained and sleep great. Potty training is coming along. The leash is a new concept that I'm warming up to - emphasis on warming up. My first home didn't get around to much training, so I'm starting from scratch, and I need someone who thinks that sounds like a fun project rather than a problem.

I love people, I love dogs, I love a yard with things to explore. What I need is a home with another dog who can show me how the whole thing works, and a family that's ready to be consistent with me while I figure it all out.

In return I will be adventurous and funny and endlessly entertaining. Ask my foster. I'm a lot but I'm the good kind of a lot.

Let's go. Seriously. What are we waiting for.

10 months | 9 lbs | Yorkie mix | Black with white patch | Crate trained | Potty training in progress | Leash training in progress | Dog & people friendly | Needs a yard + a resident dog | Active family preferred

Please answer some questions at www.lovefordogs.org/adopt-foster so my people can reach out.
