Drake's Story

Drake is a truly special dog and a rare find in rescue. He combines intelligence, loyalty, and a gentle nature into one handsome package. <br/>This boy was found as a stray with a momma dog and her puppies (maybe he was the daddee?)<br/><br/>Drake is an affectionate, easygoing boy who is happiest when he's close to his people. A true "velcro dog," he loves being indoors and will gladly follow his favorite humans from room to room, always wanting to be part of the family. <br/>He is very sweet and gentle with the older children in his foster home, though he can become a bit overwhelmed in loud or chaotic environments.<br/><br/>Drake also gets along well with other dogs. While he has never lived with a cat, he does not appear to have a strong prey drive and was completely unbothered by the clinic cats during a week-long stay at a veterinary boarding facility.<br/><br/>While he forms deep bonds with those he trusts, Drake can be cautious in new situations and may become overly submissive when frightened. <br/>Because of his sensitive nature, Drake will need a patient, understanding home that will allow him to build confidence at his own pace.<br/><br/>Drake truly thrives with positive reinforcement training and will do best with adopters who appreciate the needs of a highly intelligent breed and can provide both mental and physical enrichment to keep him engaged. <br/><br/>If you're looking for a loyal companion who will be your shadow, your best friend, and your biggest fan, Drake may be the perfect match.
