Dottie's Story
Dottie is a lively, almost 4-year-old English Pointer whos finally getting the fresh start she deserves. She was originally trained for hunting, but when she turned out to be sensitive to gunfire, she was set aside. Much of her early life was spent in a kennel with little room to roam, but those days are now behind her.

Since entering foster care, Dottie has been discovering the pleasures of home life. Like a typical Pointer, she thrives on running, sniffing, and exploring. She does best with intermittent outside time and exercise each day. Whether she's chasing a ball or playing with her toys, she knows how to keep herself entertained.

Dottie is friendly and social she gets along well with other dogs, is good with kids, and hasn't shown much interest in cats. However, her strong prey drive means she'll need supervision outdoors so she doesn't wander off following an interesting scent. She already knows come and enjoys games like fetch, making her a great fit for an active household.

Shes still adjusting to life indoors in her foster home, as this is her first time in a true home setting. Shes learning what belongs to her and that countertops aren't for exploring. She is fully house trained and very comfortable in a crate and will even tuck herself in when she's ready to rest. While the transition initially caused some weight loss, she's now eating consistently and gaining weight.

Dottie would do best in an active, outdoorsy home especially one familiar with hunting or pointing breeds. With consistency, patience, and plenty of chances to run and play, she's sure to become a wonderful companion.
