Dexter Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler Jessup, MD

This high energy guy is ~1-2 years old young adult that came to ACDRA as an owner surrender. He weighs in at 33lbs, and is up to date on all vaccinations, preventatives, and is neutered.

This guy loves to play and will enthusiastically engage any dog or person to play with him. He can be mouthy when he is trying to get your attention, but responds to corrections appropriately. He has had issues with other dogs in the home, and needs a dog that can put up with his playfulness 100% of the time.
He does fine with the adults in the house and on walks, but he can get anxious when startled, so he is looking for a home with no young children. He loves laying in the grass outside, and heaven for him is a nice belly rub on the lawn! This guy needs a yard to run around in and burn off some energy a couple times a day.

He is housebroken, but he will have an accident if you don’t see him quietly waiting at the door to go out. He has free roam of the house during the day, and has found a favorite dog pad to crash on when it’s quiet. He is crate trained and has had no issues overnight or during work hours in his crate.
