Every once in a while, a special pet comes along that gives more love than you can ever imagine. That is Dexter! This 9-11 year- old Lab/Shi Inu mix loves people, is dog-friendly and is a snuggle bug. Because he is blind (he can see some shadows), he loves being near his human—so if you are looking for a companion pet, he may be the perfect dog for you. Along with being house-trained, Dexter is crate trained at night. He loves to chew—but don’t worry! He only chews on deer/elk antlers and his toys…not yours! With his blindness, Dexter is looking for a family with older children, so he doesn’t accidentally knock them over. His best environment is a ranch-style home or one with baby gates on stairs. A fenced yard is best because once he knows his yard, he will love sniffing and exploring to his heart’s content. No swimming pools, please. He does require daily medicine, but he takes it like the champ that he is.
