Meet Desi Arnez
Desi Arnaz just turned 2. He is a big handsome boy and even at 65 pounds - this big puppy is a bit insecure.
DNA results confirmed a mix of german shepherd, bluetick coonhound and lab.
He is house trained, crate trained and knows basic commands.
Desi loves toys, tennis balls, ropes and giant Nylabones. He plays hard and loves a good playmate to run, romp and wrestle with.
This big boy absolutely loves puppies and actually helped raise a total of 42 foster puppies!
One of Desi's many passions is chasing birds... ALL the birds! Not squirrels, raccoons, deer or possum --- BIRDS!
We actually don't know how he feels about cats yet.
Desi LOVES to swim and is a huge fan of ponds, kiddie pools and garden hoses!
Desi's ideal home would have a big fenced yard to run in and a confident playful dog to pal around and roughhouse with.
Desi has no idea that he is such a big boy. He sometimes displays insecurity when meeting new people and new dogs. In his previous home - Desi grew very close to his human which amplified those insecurities and he became overly protective. Desi will require a home with a strong leader to help build his confidence. He is a big, goofy puppy at heart. Experience with an insecure dog would be helpful but not required.
Desi has been working with a behavioral trainer and continues to make progress. His trainer will continue to work with his new family, until he's completely adjusted.
