Denver

**Fostered in Crestview, Florida**

Meet this handsome 3-year-old fella named Denver!

Denver’s personality is really starting to shine, and we are learning more about this big, sweet boy every day. At heart, he is definitely a couch potato with the occasional zoomie! He is happiest hanging out with his people and following everyone around the house to make sure he knows what they’re up to and whether they need his assistance. He’s basically a giant, four-legged supervisor.

He is an absolute sweetheart and has been wonderful with the three kids in his foster home, even when they are all over him. Surprisingly, he hasn’t been much of a jumper at all. He is house-trained, walks beautifully on leash, and is completely unfazed by barking neighborhood dogs or other dogs encountered on walks. He doesn’t appear to have much of a prey drive—we’ve seen squirrels and lizards in the backyard, and he couldn’t seem to care less.

He is not particularly food motivated, which is probably part of why he needs to put on a few pounds. He takes his sweet time eating and would apparently prefer to spend the entire day contemplating his breakfast. We’ve been making his meals a little more enticing with Freshpet, salmon oil, and low-sodium chicken broth.

Bath time?
He walked right into the walk-in shower and stood there like a perfect gentleman for the entire bath. We suspect he may have been groomed regularly in his previous life, because he was exceptionally easy to handle.

So far, toys aren't really his thing. He has been offered a variety, but he mostly gives them a sniff and moves on. Why play with toys when you could lounge on the couch?

He does have a funny habit of groaning when he lies down or gets up—like a little old man in a giant Dane body.

He is great in the car and enjoys going for rides, so he’s ready to be your copilot for adventures or errands.

Overall, this big guy is gentle, easygoing, affectionate, and incredibly easy to have around. His personality is continuing to come out more each day, and we’re excited to see him become even more comfortable and confident.

He may be a big boy, but he’s got an even bigger heart.

If you’re looking for a gentle giant who would rather hang out with you than cause trouble, this sweet boy may be your guy.

Denver is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and on routine heartworm/flea prevention.

Denver’s adoption fee is $350. To read over the adoption requirements before applying to adopt Denver, please go to www.nwflgdr.com/adopt.

Please note: NWFLGDR does not transport. All approved adopters are required to pick up the dane in person from the foster parent.
