Description: Delilah was originally adopted out of a big box full of "Free Puppies!" at a local Wal-Mart by an owner who discovered that she was unprepared for commitment to a canine companion. Delilah was kept as a backyard dog and was impregnated by roaming strays twice before her owner decided that Delilah deserved a shot at finding a new, better-suited owner dedicated to her health, happiness and well-being. After being left her with us at the Humane Society in March of 2012, Delilah spent almost six months at the shelter, with no one interested in adding her to their family. Happily, she was adopted to a new owner in early August and spent several weeks in a home environment. Unfortunately, due to Delilah's history of lack of socialization, she is what we define as a "reactive dog" and needs some rehabilitation beyond what her previous adopter was able to provide. She needs owners who are able and willing to teach her how to accept strangers and behave well in new environments. Now Delilah's here waiting for a forever home with someone looking for an energetic, bright and eager family member. Delilah was known to get along well with cats and other dogs, but she seems to prefer to be left alone by small children. Take her to your home on a trial adoption period to see how she fits in!

All dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and eligible for a complimentary general physical examination at a local veterinary clinic post-adoption.
