Dart's Story

Buttons puppies are officially ready to find their forever homes. These mixed-breed puppies have overcome a difficult start in life and are now healthy, social, and ready for adoption. Their mother, Buttons, is a small 19-pound dog who was found on the streets with her five puppies while severely matted. She is believed to be a Shih Tzu/Poodle-type mix, possibly Cockapoo or similar doodle-type mix. The sire is unknown, but based on appearance, the puppies may have Collie, Corgi, Australian Shepherd, Spaniel, or other small mixed-breed ancestry.

Date of birth is estimated as February 22, 2026, and they are now approximately 16 weeks old.

The litter includes Stitch, a male weighing 18.4 pounds who is black, white, and tan; Lace, a female weighing 15.8 pounds who is dark brown, tan, and white; Patch, a male weighing 14 pounds who is light brown, tan, and white; Velvet, a female weighing 14 pounds who is black and white and currently adoption pending; and Dart, a male weighing 10 pounds who is black and white.

These puppies have soft medium to long coats that will require regular brushing and routine grooming. Their adult size is expected to be small to medium with some variation between littermates. They have been raised around children, cats, and other dogs and have done very well in a family environment.

Adoption Application (copy/paste): https://airtable.com/appklteyg5w2e0fmu/shrY8RxQc1KxQYCuv

Each puppy has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated with DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies, microchipped, dewormed, tested negative on fecal exam, kept current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, and examined and cleared by a veterinarian for adoption.

They are currently being fostered in Texas and are available for adoption in New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, New York, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, and Kansas, with additional states considered where transport requirements can be met.

Adopters must be 21+ years old and have proper identification. ALL members of the household must agree on the adoption. We do NOT allow adoptions to be surprises for others. Out of state adoptions are ALLOWED. We currently adopt to homes located in PA, NY, MD, DE, NJ, MA, CT, RI, OH, NH, OR, WA, SC, and FL. We will also adopt to homes located within 200-250 miles from Amarillo, TX 79101, and may make exceptions on a case-by-case basis for longer distances or other states. Potential adopters must submit an initial application that will be followed up by a phone interview and home check. Potential adopters must be able to prove that property management permits pets if renting or prove homeownership. We call two personal non-family references (ie. friends, neighbors or co-workers) that are to be listed on the application. If there are any current pets in the home, we will call your Veterinarian as well to ensure all pets are up to date on state required vaccines and are spayed/neutered. Potential adopter must provide basic care for the life of the animal. An adoption contract must be thoroughly read, completed, and signed by the adopter before the adoption is complete. The adoption process could range anywhere from a few hours, up to a week. We do NOT hold dogs/puppies.
